This was such an amazing shoot for me. Justin surprised his wife Lacy, on their first anniversary, by recreating their first date and he asked me to be there to capture the day. Justin is an awesome photographer here in Nashville so it was such an honor for him to ask me to do this. I’ll admit I was a little nervous driving to the shoot knowing that I was capturing something for another photographer whose work I respect so much, but the second I met Justin & Lacy they made me feel so welcomed into their lives and it was such an amazing day!
Their first date began at this exact Starbucks in Nashville. This is what I saw as I walked in. Lacy had no idea about any of this! 
They sat at this exact table drinking green tea and coloring in a Care Bears coloring book. What a fun first date idea! I really wanted to approach this session from a simple emotive perspective. I’ve been inspired lately by a lot of editorial photography and I wanted this session to have a very real, classic feel to it. 
They are so darn cute together!
Next we went outside and enjoyed this rare event in Nashville; it was snowing!
And they ended their first date with some ice skating, what a memorable way to begin a relationship! 
They skated around like they were the only 2 people there and I was blessed to witness the beauty of their love for each other. 
Justin & Lacy, thank you for asking me to capture such a beautiful day. I hope that you cherish these memories and each other for the rest of your lives.
